EAT MORE PLANTS!

Ugh... “It’s meal time again”… “I have no time to cook!”… “I don’t know what to make”… “I know I need to eat healthy but it’s SO MUCH WORK”…

Hello, My name is Samantha Duchaine, and I am a Board Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I hear these statements while working with clients (and also just generally…), all the time. Recently I heard a quote that resonated. It went something like… “You know you are an adult when you have to decide what to eat, over and over and over again..” The struggle of what to eat is real, and add to that the pressure of making something HEALTHY. This program may not solve the dilemma completely, but my goal is to equip you with a new way of looking at food to hopefully broaden your mental encyclopedia for those moments of… “What to eat?”

We all know we need to eat more plants. We know that increasing our consumption of them decreases our risk of cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes. We know that it will help us to manage a healthy weight, give us more energy, keep our digestive system running well, and strengthen our immune system. We know it will help us age gracefully and keep our bodies from getting as sick, or as injured, as it would if it were less nourished. We know all these things. But we often get stuck in eating ruts. We go to what we know, what is comfortable, and what is easy.

This program is an opportunity for you to ditch those ruts, and broaden the boundaries of your comfort zone to include loads of fiber, fruits, veggies, plant based proteins and whole grains.

I was forced into this way of eating because of my health journey, feel free to read my story if you want to learn more. You don’t need to wait for your body to demand it before you make a change! My goal is to take the stress out of eating well and to make sure delicious, easy, and healthy can all make it onto the same plate.

What to expect?

This will be a 4-part series taking place at Green Goddess in Lake Placid. It will be a hands on event, so come ready to cook and nibble! Each evening will have a different theme, some of the topics we will be covering will be: Sauces and Flavor, Meal Salads and Slaws, Gluten Free Flatbreads, and Making Do with what you have (how to set yourself up for success). Before each session you will receive an email with specific details of what will be on the menu. We will prep, cook, clean up, and eat what we have made (enough to whet your whistle but not a full meal). You will leave with some of my signature “recipes”, and Green Goddess will put the fixin’s together and have available for purchase, so that you can make the meal at home. Come ready to approach cooking and eating a little differently, and leave with some new ideas, recipes, and fresh perspectives on food.

The series was such a great success that we have decided to add on a DESSERT EDITION! This will be a one night only event on Thursday, May 2nd. We will run through a few different sweet treats that are plant based, health conscious, and easy to make. We will follow the same hands on principles of the 4-part series described above.
